India in FTA talks with US, EU & others: Piyush Goyal

[ad_1] New Delhi: Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal Friday said India is negotiating free trade agreements at present with countries, including the US, European Union, New Zealand, Oman, Peru and Chile. "We are currently negotiating with the EU, US, Oman, New Zealand, Chile and Peru and many more wanting us to start negotiations," he said at the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam.India has already implemented free trade agreements with countries such as UAE, Australia and four nation European bloc EFTA.The minister pushed for two-way investments by lowering trade barriers, creating an open, transparent environment that enables the free flow of goods, services and capital. Goyal said that at present, this is an inflection point in global history and "the world order that defined the past several decades is being rewritten in this churning and tremendously volatile and uncertain, challenging times". To promote ease of doing business, he said the Centre has removed as many as 42,000 compliances and abolished 1,500 laws. Organic goods exports can hit Rs 20K crore in 3 years: Piyush Goyal

[ad_1] NEW DELHI: India has the potential to increase exports of organic products up to Rs 20,000 crore in the next three years from Rs 5,000-6,000 crore now, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said Thursday."Currently, our organic product exports are at Rs 5,000-6,000 crore. In the next three years, we can easily achieve Rs 20,000 crore exports, about 3-3.5 times increase from the current level," Goyal said at the eighth edition of National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP). The new regulations are aimed at enhancing clarity and transparency in organic product standards and aligning with global standards.Goyal said the global demand for these products is about Rs 1 lakh crore, which can grow up to Rs 10 lakh crore in the coming years and asked startups to come out with solutions that help in growth of the sector. China to impose anti-dumping deposits on cypermethrin from India
