India, US work for critical minerals self-reliance, supply chains

[ad_1] New Delhi: India and the US are working together towards becoming self-reliant in critical minerals, strengthening supply chains and adopting cutting-edge technologies, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said Wednesday, adding that he will visit Washington early next month for the India-US CEO Forum.“With both of us suffering a common source of concern.. common concern C…(there is) lots to be done. We have a lot to offer, you have a lot to offer,” he said at the US-India Business Council’s (USIBC) 49th Annual General Meeting.He said that India and US share one of the most strategic and consequential relationship with shared interests in bilateral and geopolitical issues.“The aspirations of 100 million small retailers, which have disappeared from the US landscape, but we’re making an effort to protect to some extent,” Goyal said.He added that the two sides should reinforce and recommit to a better world. Organic goods exports can hit Rs 20K crore in 3 years: Piyush Goyal

[ad_1] NEW DELHI: India has the potential to increase exports of organic products up to Rs 20,000 crore in the next three years from Rs 5,000-6,000 crore now, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said Thursday."Currently, our organic product exports are at Rs 5,000-6,000 crore. In the next three years, we can easily achieve Rs 20,000 crore exports, about 3-3.5 times increase from the current level," Goyal said at the eighth edition of National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP). The new regulations are aimed at enhancing clarity and transparency in organic product standards and aligning with global standards.Goyal said the global demand for these products is about Rs 1 lakh crore, which can grow up to Rs 10 lakh crore in the coming years and asked startups to come out with solutions that help in growth of the sector.
